“an investment in my comfort”

March 9, 2010 by cash

It may be a sign.  Of the pending apocalypse.  In what can only be called “shocking” news? Cash recently made a sound financial decision.  Shudder.  Naturally, it had very little to do with fiscal responsibility.  It had everything to do with comfort.  Increasing mine, that is.  I’ve talked about its importance before (see here).  Aside from pleasure, it’s one of the few things I spend my time pursuing.  A recent purchase not only guarantees more comfort in my life, it also saved me $2 to boot.

The item in question?

A ten pack of “LOCAL” RTD bus tickets.

My job recently moved into a new, uber-pimp office on the other side of Lodo.  The downside?  It effectively doubled my commute.  What used to be a 15 minute walk now takes me 33.  This isn’t bad by any means, but when the icy chill of a snowy Denver night faces me at the end of the day, it could be better.

Thankfully, there’s a bus stop two blocks away.

The bus in question, magnificently heated and relatively hobo-free, drops me off just around the corner from my place.  Ten rides at full fare would cost me $20.  Buying the ticket gets me one ride free.  It also prevents me from missing out on the instant comfort boost by spending the money on something else.

Investing in my pleasure has always been easy (see here).

Nowadays?

Investing in my comfort is too.

vice. life. the naughty. the nice.
