NEWS FLASH:  Guys.  Are.  Retarded.

Ladies, you don’t seem surprised.  Good.  You shouldn’t be.  I’ve touched on this topic before (see here, and here) but it bears repeating.  Just one example?  Guys underestimate themselves.  In almost every way possible.  Especially when it comes to dating.  One of the most painful things to hear in this regard is, sadly, one of the most frequent. It can come directly from them, or their friends, and either way, it’s so ridiculous it’s almost painful to type;

“She’s out of my league”.

Or, if you have real assholes for “friends”;

“She’s out of YOUR league.”

No.  She.  Isn’t.  (You idiot.)

No one is.  There’s exactly one “league” on this planet.  The Human League.  Yap, just like your favorite 80’s synth-pop band.

Guess what?  You’re part of this “league”.  So is she.

Score one; possibility.

Score zero:  pessimism.

People don’t say this to me anymore (at least not to my face).  Tis a wise choice.  I no more believe that any girl on earth is ‘out of my league’ than I believe ramen noodles + a packet of Star Kist Herb and Garlic Tuna is anything less than a delicious meal.  It’s stupidity.

Thinking about it, I’ve come up with the *only* suitable response for said comment.  From yourself.  From the girl in question.  Or from your ‘friends’.

RANDOM IDIOT:  “Oh puhlease.. she’s totally out of your league.”

ENLIGHTENED TGOC READER:  “You’re right.  She’s at least three leagues beneath me.”
