We all have them. We all resent them. They’re the people, maybe people we’ve known for years, maybe decades, that only seem to get in touch when times are really tough for them . They need our advice. They need our counsel. They need someone, anyone, to be a shoulder for their otherwise prodigal son tears to fall upon. You know what? Fuck these people. If I’m not important enough to warrant an occasional night out, conversation, or other contact when things are alright with you, don’t expect me to give a damn when your life is suddenly in shambles and you need my sage wisdom. These people are parasites. My resolve is the penicillin.
